Saturday our women's soccer team who is ranked 22nd tied 2nd ranked West chester after a double overtime draw. West Chester seemed to have the game after scoring a goal in the 67th minute but Slippery rock was not backing down. with just 36 seconds remaining they tied the game up. Our girl's team has always been very competitive but to tie the 2nd ranked team in the country is an impressive accomplishment. This shows all of their hard work and dedication during season and even during the off season.
Hopefully our girls keep this fire going and continue their winning season. If you can make sure to get our and support all of our athletic teams.
This was a great game. I attended it and it was an awesome feeling when Stephanie Buckenheimer scored with 36 seconds left. They battled hard all game and it was nice to see all their hard work pay off. Too bad they couldn't pull off the win but a draw against the #2 team is definitely good.
